The Park

Touring Park ~ Caravan Park ~ Camping Park

The Railway Station at New Radnor in Powys, Mid Wales, first became a caravan park in 1966 following the closure of the New Radnor Branch Line in 1951. It has been in my family ever since that time and from 1975 onwards it was run by my parents, Mr & Mrs Niblett, who made many good friends of the people who loved to stay on the Park and came back year after year.

New Radnor ~ Powys ~ Mid Wales

When my husband John and I took over the caravan park in 2004 we were adamant that we wanted to preserve its tranquillity and history and, although modernisation was needed, this had to be in keeping with the character of the area.

We began by bringing electricity and LPG gas to the Park, we have also dug a borehole for our own water and installed a large sewerage treatment plant. We have built a new toilet block with showers, all disabled friendly, and a laundry room will be open in the near future.

Future plans include restoration of the two station buildings. The Ticket Office still stands on the old platform and has the original ticket window inside. The Goods Shed still houses the old crane once used for loading goods trains. These features will all be retained when we convert the buildings to self-catering holiday accommodation. Imagine staying in a genuine railway station building!

Touring Caravans, Holiday Caravans, Motorhomes & Tents

The caravan & camping park is open for touring caravans, motorhomes & tents. We also have a static holiday caravan to let and we have pitches available if you would like to buy your own static holiday caravan in Mid-Wales.
